She then transferred back to Muncie and attended Ball State University where she played for 2 more seasons including each of the possible 67 matches earning ALL MAC Academic honors in 2022. Athletic Director, Brad Miller said, "We are very excited to get such a seasoned volleyball player with a high level of competitive experience come back where she started her road to success. I believe her high knowledge of the game combined with her competitive spirit and ability to teach the fundamentals needed to build a strong foundation program will be a great addition to our "new look" team next season. I am hoping the excitement and new buzz around the hire will generate a positive vibe amongst the current players and incoming girls. We are looking to remain in the competitive conversation immediately and for a long time." Coach Gates was asked about the opportunity and replied with, "I am very excited about the opportunity to be back here at Wapahani. I am eager to bring my passion and love for the game to the program. I can't wait to get started and see what these girls can accomplish."
